Consumer protection in Developing countries

In developing countries like India there is more requirement or need for consumer protection because of the following reasons:

In developing country most of the customers are poor and unemployed and these customers are taken for granted as they cannot object to any product or service. They accept anything which is offered to them at low price as they have to buy it to live. The poor consumer is the most harassed and the most helpless creature in India and other developing countries.
